Zellige is traditionally handmade and intentionally varied. Differences in glaze, shade, edges, dimensions and surface texture create a less uniform and more artisanal appearance than most machine-made ceramic tile.

Our authentic Zellige tile is handmade in Morocco using traditional production methods that give each piece its distinctive color, texture and surface variation.

Zellige may be used on shower walls when the selected product is suitable for the application and installed over a properly waterproofed substrate using appropriate setting, grouting and sealing methods. Review the individual product information and consult an experienced installer before use.

Zellige should not automatically be assumed suitable for floors. Floor use is appropriate only when the specific product description or technical information expressly approves that application.

Small chips, uneven edges, pits, glaze variation, crazing and surface irregularities are expected characteristics of handmade Zellige. They contribute to the material's authentic appearance and are generally not considered manufacturing defects.

Yes. Additional material should be ordered for cuts, layout, selection, handmade variation, installation waste and future repairs. The appropriate overage depends on the format, pattern, room layout and project conditions.

Yes. Samples are available for many Zellige products so you can evaluate color, glaze, texture and handmade variation before placing a full order. Sample cost is credited toward a completed purchase within 60 days.
