Can checkerboard tile be used in a shower?
Yes, on properly waterproofed shower walls. For shower floors, smaller honed formats or mosaics are the better choice because the extra grout joints add traction; polished stone can be slippery when wet. Confirm suitability for your exact product with your installer.
Which stones are available?

A straight layout reads crisp and architectural. A diagonal layout adds movement and can make a small room feel larger, but it requires more cuts, so plan for closer to 15% overage.
